Dear Japanese Food Lovers,

Hello from Aiko at isfor WA, Oxford!

Do you bring homemade dishes to gatherings too?

What’s your go-to recipe to share?

Yesterday, I brought a tray of homemade hosomaki (thin sushi rolls) to a friendly get-together in our neighbourhood.
These bite-sized rolls, filled with simple ingredients like cucumber and tuna, were a big hit!

Everyone loved how easy they were to pick up and eat ❤

A little bit about me – I’ve worked for many years in a field that has nothing to do with cookery school, but my true passion lies in cooking.  After moving to the UK, I rediscovered just how much I love Japanese food — its flavours, simplicity, and seasonal beauty.

Other than Japanese cookery school, one of my personal goals is to create more opportunities here in the UK to wear kimono and share the art of Japanese tea.
It’s a quiet but meaningful way to stay connected to my culture, and to share it with others.

Happy Cooking!

Aiko
